THE TENNESSEE FLYOVER – Army Cpl. George C. Hagie of Kingsport, who was killed in the Korean War in 1950, has been formally identified after 75 years.
The 18-year-old died in battle near the Jangjin Reservoir and was buried as an unknown in Honolulu’s National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific.
Advances in DNA and forensic analysis allowed the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency to confirm his identity.
Hagie will be laid to rest in Johnson City in May 2026.
